Reduce concrete consumption and CO2 Avoid emissions
SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION WITH UNIDOME
Today, concrete is one of the most important building materials in the world. And yet concrete is often referred to as a “climate killer.” The production of concrete requires cement, the production of which involves high energy consumption and high CO2 emissions. Global cement production of just over four billion tons per year is today associated with emissions of 2.8 billion tons of CO2. That's why we at Unidome ask ourselves why we should use more material in the construction process than is necessary. By scientifically analyzing the power flows of components and using the resulting knowledge, we are able to develop suitable Unidome concrete moldings for the respective component. This results in material being displaced exactly where it is simply unnecessary. Up to 35% concrete consumption and up to 20% reinforcing steel can thus be saved. Reducing their weight also makes it possible to create thinner building structures. As a result, material consumption is further reduced. For example, transport with Unidome XS-H replaces up to 48 trucks with concrete, thus avoiding up to 60 tons of CO2 emissions.
Unidome was awarded the “LEADING INNOVATORS OF SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION” Small Business Award from Corporate Vision in 2021.
