Visit to a large Unidome construction site in Abu Dhabi
The “Grove at Saadiyat Island” project in Abu Dhabi is currently creating one of the largest unidome slabs in the world. An impressive slab area of almost 100,000 square meters will be realized on one level — implemented using sustainable Unidome technology as a lightweight, material-efficient and CO₂-saving voided slab.
The void former modules used specifically displace concrete in areas subject to less static stress and thus enable significant concrete savings while maintaining the same load-bearing capacity. The project thus makes a significant contribution to material efficiency, climate protection and sustainable construction.
Special thanks go to Khalid Al-Qaqa, who guided us to this construction site as part of our visit to the Big5 trade fair. We would also like to thank Professor Andrej Albert and Professor Markus Hartmann for the valuable professional exchange at the highest level, which will also be of great importance for future projects.
The Unidome Group can be proud to be part of such an exemplary construction site.
