After more than a year of intensive joint development work, test projects and optimizations, the time has come: The precast concrete elements specialist fdu and the Unidome Group, leader in void former technology, present the new Unidome XP product line. This unique solution combines the advantages of prefabricated construction, element slabs and void former modules to create one of the most sustainable construction methods in modern reinforced concrete construction.
The Unidome XP void formers are already factory-integrated into fdu's precast concrete elements. This creates a prefabricated slab ready for installation, which can be installed quickly and efficiently on the construction site. With this innovative construction method, significant concrete savings can be achieved, which not only leads to a noticeable CO₂ reduction, but also increases material efficiency and sustainability in construction.
The unidome concrete shapers act as lost formwork inside the concrete slab and displace concrete specifically in areas subject to less static stress. This achieves a high load capacity while reducing dead load — ideal for sustainable construction, climate protection and the implementation of large spans.
With Unidome XP technology, the successful construction with voided slabs, which has been continuously developed for more than 25 years, is transferred to the field of prefabricated construction. In addition to sustainability, the focus is on digitization, automation and resource conservation. The result is a construction method that combines innovation, efficiency and climate protection in a perfect way.
