December 2024: Sustainable unidome technology combined with composite carriers

A new modern medical center is currently being built in the Kappusanlage in Idstein. In order to implement the special floor plan with large spans and maximum freedom of space without annoying supports, the planning team, together with the client, relies on sustainable Unidome void former technology. The combination with composite beams from AL Verbundträger GmbH from Taunusstein provides a technically and ecologically convincing solution.

By using Unidome void former elements, concrete is specifically displaced, which not only reduces the own load, but can also save significant amounts of concrete and CO2. The concrete shapers used act as lost formwork within the concrete slab and improve the load-bearing behavior with large spans. The result is a lightweight, efficient and sustainable ceiling solution that enables both architectural freedom and climate protection.
