Efficient and sustainable: The Unidome XP product line optimizes construction with sustainable semi-prefabricated ceilings

With the new Unidome XP product line, Unidome is expanding its portfolio of sustainable solutions for modern building construction. The XP series was developed specifically for use in combination with prefabricated panel slabs — also known as semi-precast slabs — and sets new standards in terms of efficiency, quality and resource conservation.

In close cooperation with our partner fdu, one of the leading manufacturers of semi-precast slabs, the XP concrete displacers are precisely embedded in the fresh concrete of the element plates at the prefabricated plant — either manually using templates or fully automatically by robot. This eliminates the time-consuming assembly of the hollow body elements on the construction site, as required for in-situ concrete solutions. The result is a high level of prefabrication, which not only significantly reduces construction time, but also creates planning and execution reliability.

The intelligent geometry of Unidome XP concrete displacers also ensures easy and clean integration of impact and cross reinforcement on the construction site. Since the concrete shapers are already fixed in fdu's semi-finished parts, they can be applied immediately — without the risk of buoyancy or shift in position. This speeds up the entire construction of the ceiling and enables a consistently efficient construction process.

The new product line is also convincing from an ecological point of view: The targeted use of XP void formers can significantly reduce concrete and steel consumption in the slab area. Less material not only means lower costs, but also significant CO2 savings — both in production and during transport to the construction site.

With Unidome XP and XP-plus, nothing will stand in the way of building sustainable semi-precast slabs in the future. The combination of intelligent prefabrication, sophisticated product architecture and maximum material efficiency makes the XP series the ideal solution for demanding projects that focus on both economic and ecological aspects.
