April 2026: New University Library & Archive Mittweida

An exciting project is taking shape: the new university library and archive building on the Mittweida campus will create a modern space for learning and collaboration for students and researchers alike.

Special emphasis is being placed on efficient and sustainable construction methods. The slabs are being built using a modern voided slab system incorporating our Unidome Group void formers. This significantly reduces the dead weight of the reinforced concrete structure without compromising its load-bearing capacity.

The result: longer spans, optimized material usage, and a noticeable reduction in CO2 emissions, all while maintaining the high flexibility of flat slab construction.

We are proud to be part of this forward-looking project and to contribute to more sustainable construction practices.
