November 2024: Sustainable Unidome Technology in the Heavy-Duty Slab of a Production Hall in Switzerland

In Tegerfelden, Switzerland, an assembly and production hall is currently being expanded and expanded. Sustainable Unidome void former technology combined with transverse force reinforcement in beams level with slab support is used in the long-span and heavily loaded reinforced concrete slabs.

The XS 260 (290) unidome concrete shapers used save around 0.13 m³ of concrete per square meter of void former area and reduce the own load by approx. 320 kg/m². This not only leads to significant concrete savings and CO₂ reduction, but also to improved load-bearing characteristics with large spans.

Together with the engineering firm MWV Bauingenieure AG (Ljupko Perić), the Unidome Group was able to develop a tailor-made solution for this project, which is implemented quickly and efficiently by the construction company Birchmeier Bau AG.

Unidome would like to thank all project participants for the excellent cooperation:
Client: Heinz Baumgartner AG
Architecture: db — architektur GmbH
Engineering office: MWV Bauingenieure AG
Construction company: Birchmeier Bau AG

This project is another example of how unidome voided slabs contribute to sustainable construction, material efficiency and climate protection.
